Brickyard South Bar + Patio
About This Spot
Stepping into Brickyard South Bar + Patio feels like crossing the threshold into a welcoming neighborhood hideaway where the rhythm of Baton Rouge slows down just enough to savor familiar moments. The air hums with relaxed energy—a mix of friendly chatter, clinking glasses, and the occasional strum of live music drifting from the back deck. It’s the sort of spot where the vibe is effortlessly laidback, and you quickly find yourself slipping into casual conversation or simply soaking up the warmth of the space.
The patio invites you to linger, whether you’ve stopped by early for a quietly satisfying breakfast sandwich paired with a Michelob Ultra or come later to grab a drink before sinking into the regular roster of events—from trivia nights to karaoke and live bands. There’s a comforting ease here; the staff know many faces by name and new visitors are embraced with genuine hospitality, making the bar feel less like a place and more like a shared front porch.
Brickyard South isn’t chasing loud crowds or flashy trends. Instead, it’s channeling the spirit of friendly get-togethers where every well-made cocktail, plate of crispy wings, or Friday night burger complements the mix of locals and newcomers who appreciate its unpretentious charm. With pool games underway and music floating just right, the atmosphere invites you to pause, connect, and find your own place in its ongoing story.

Amazing local bar! Great owner and awesome staff! My new go to bar. Can't beat the Friday night hamburgers with freshly made french fries.

Brickyard south is my new favorite bar in Baton Rouge. The staff are friendly the owner is on site and very cool dude, the crowd goes there is very laid-back and cool. I almost don’t want people to know about it for it to lose its cool nature.

Very unique place, live music in back was on point.

Waisted money on the jukebox. Apparently they leave it in while the bartenders are playing music from behind the bar. Now I know to tell the bartender. Multiple events, bands, open deck DJ night, karaoke, trivia, art setups, safe and friendly to everyone. The staff is great and a great place to catch a game of pool.

First visit. Last night. Karaoke. From the second I stepped into the welcoming environment and cozy vibes, I was hooked. Meeting my Krewe after they finished work led to my arrival about an hour before the singing started. [And my posse arrived] So single chick alone at an unfamiliar bar. Nervous? Hardly. 5 minutes in the regulars were chatting with me like I'd been there all night. Regular old chatting. I have no idea if I met staff or owners but everyone working was warm, efficient, and kept the bar rolling. I can only assume the karaoke family here is always so vibrant, varied, and a wonderful audience to have. We will most definitely be back. [Side note. This wonderful staff did an amazing job keeping the place clean. Bathrooms, tabletops, floors, the works. A funky spot it is, in all the best ways, but not THAT funky if you get me.]

Great music venue, friendly crowd. Can be a bit crowded and hard to get a drink on some nights. Not super clean but not awful, as far as bars go. Be warned that there is no AC, and you know how S. Louisiana summers get. This lack of AC tempted me to rate it 4 stars, but they deserve 5, so let's call it a 4,5 star bar. They book unique bands and the Wednesday night Open Jam is usually packed with talent.
